Today December 14th, the first cargo train pulled by electric Locomotive arrived at Port of Karlshamn.

Not only the track down to the port (Intermodal Rail Terminal) is electrificated, but also track for shunting.

- Now both Intermodal wagons and other cargo wagons can be transported in an environmental friendly

way down to Port of Karlshamn, says Peter Samuelsson, Manager for the rail terminals and rail operation.

- In connection with the new time table of swedish rail operator Green Cargo, electric locomotives

will be used. Green Cargo sees a growth in demand for cargo by rail to and from Port of Karlshamn Karlshamn,

why they now have increased the capacity and doubled the frequency to two trains per day,

Peter Samuelsson continues.
